Staff in many different areas of administration collaborate with peers at five campuses to meet common needs through joint training and shared positions, common contracts, and joint purchasing.

The fall 2002 issue of the Five College magazine, Ink, featured an article (PDF 4.0) about the highly successful joint purchasing practices of the Massachusetts Higher Education Consortium (MHEC), which is based at UMass Amherst.
