Sponsored by Five Colleges Inc., the Center for International Education at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and funded by the Fulbright Hays Group Projects Abroad program at the U.S. Department of Education, the group spent time in Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam developing culturally sensitive curriculum units, collecting content material, and deepening their understanding of the region and its diverse cultures. Representing the Springfield, Northampton, Amherst and Hadley public school districts, participant teachers continue to share their knowledge and resources with other educators interested in incorporating aspects of Southeast Asia into their classrooms. This purpose of this web site is to share some of the background and end results of the study tour project, including the learning modules produced by participating teachers. |
