UISFL Curriculum Development Support for African Studies
The Five College African Studies Council is pleased to offer course development stipends of 00 to enable five college faculty to add substantial African content to an existing undergraduate course, or develop a new course that will include a significant African component.

The Spring Colloquium series will bring together Five College faculty developing courses under the UISFL grant and Africanist faculty from the Five Colleges. The Spring 2008 theme is Performing Culture. This theme complements other initiatives at the Five Colleges. The African Scholars Program is currently hosting, through December 2007, three visiting scholars in the humanities, two specializing in African literature and one ethnomusicologist. The Amherst College Copeland Fellowship theme for 2007-2008 is Art and Identity in the Global Community .

The application deadline for Spring 2008 is Monday October 15, 2007. Faculty who are interested in applying for the grants should view the document below for details.
