Professor Mutua is Chairman of the Kenya Human Rights Commission and a prolific writer on matters of human rights and African Politics of books, scholarly articles, and op ed piece for newspapers in Africa and around the world. This year he will give the prestigious Abiola Lecture -- the keynote lecture -- at the African Studies Association annual meeting.
