Five College America Reads Program : Extended Training

Extended Training

This is an extensive training (ETW) offered once per semester. It is required of all tutors. Taught by faculty from the five colleges and area teachers, the ETW equips you as a tutor with detailed tutoring strategies, ideas for projects and lessons, a place to meet and share ideas with other tutors, and an opportunity to ask questions related to the level of students you are tutoring. The training lasts for one 4 hour session and takes place on the weekend. As with the Overview Training, you will be paid for your hours.

The Spring 2008 date for the Extended Training Workshop is March 8, 2008 at Amherst College, Converse Hall, Porter Lounge, from 10 am to 2 pm.

If you have any special needs regarding accessibility please let us know ahead of time so that we may accomodate you.

You must arrive on time and stay through the entire session in order to be paid for your training.

NOTE: You also need to sign up for one the required Special Topic Sessions at the end of the semester.
