Five College America Reads Program : Extended Training

Extended Training

This is a longer training (ETW) offered once per semester. It is required of all tutors. Taught by faculty from the five colleges and area teachers, the ETW equips you as a tutor with detailed tutoring strategies, ideas for projects and lessons, the opportunity to meet and share ideas with other tutors and to ask questions related to students you are tutoring. The training lasts 4 hours. Coffee and a small breakfast and full lunch are all provided. As with the Overview Training, you will be paid for your hours.

The Spring 2010 Extended Training Workshop:

Saturday, February 27th, 2010
Converse Hall, Porter Lounge
Amherst College
10:30 am- 2:30 pm

Please register online by emailing speller@educ.umass.edu.

You must arrive on time and stay through the entire session in order to be paid for your training.

Bus Information to be posted shortly. Buses run from each campus directly to the building.

If you have any special needs regarding accessibility please let us know ahead of time so that we may accomodate you.

NOTE: You also need to sign up for one the required Special Topic Sessions at the end of the semester.
