The Program supports projects relevant to the study of Africa in the humanities and social sciences.

Each year, for spring (January-May) residencies, the Program assembles a cross-disciplinary, cross-regional group of Fellows with shared interest in a broad theme. For these spring residencies, applicants are asked to address the announced theme. For fall (August-December) residencies a particular topic is not imposed.
