Africans on Africa: Gender, Generation, and Globalization

The Five College African Scholars Program, the Five College African Studies Council, and Westfield State College are bringing two speakers from Senegal to the Valley in Spring 2009. This event is a follow-up to the “Bamako: Globalization on Trial in Africa” Spring 2008 film screenings and conference, which included a live video connection with a panel of scholars and activists in Dakar, Senegal. Ms. Aisatta Tall-Sall was one of the speakers on the March 1, 2008 panel in Dakar. During their residency the visitors will give public talks on several campuses, participate in a seminar with faculty, speak to several classes, and they will meet with community groups in Springfield.
