Betty Thurston

Betty Veres Thurston, Administrative Assistant for the Five College Dance Department, received her BS from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in physical education and her MS in Administration. She has taught physical education from K-12, supervised 56 elementary schoolteachers in a program she developed, and worked on a federally funded physical fitness test program at the University of Michigan under Paul Hunsicker, a nationally renown expert in exercise science and fitness. She has been an active teacher, coach and mentor in a variety of sports including soccer, basketball, figure skating, tennis and gymnastics. An avid hiker, biker, golfer and tennis player, she enjoys fully the joy of movement.
