Debra Vega has made a career out of her great love for dance and Musical Theatre! In New York, Debra danced on Broadway in such shows as A CHRISTMAS CAROL THE MUSICAL (Madison Square Garden Theatre) for 4 seasons, ANYTHING GOES (Lincoln Center), FUNNY GIRL (Actors Fund) and also danced for 4 seasons as a “Radio City Rockette” in the RADIO CITY CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR. She has traveled the United States and Europe in National and European Tours such as FAME! THE MUSICAL, CRAZY FOR YOU, and STEEL PIER. Her favorite Regional Theatre productions include A CHORUS LINE (Judy), WIZARD OF OZ (Glinda), A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM (Gymnasia), as well as 3 other productions of CRAZY FOR YOU and 5 different productions of WILL ROGERS FOLLIES. Debra is also a proud member of Actor’s Equity Association (AEA) and American Guild of Variety Artists (AGVA).

Debra has taught dance throughout her performing career, now for over 25 years, including at studios in and around New York City. She traveled to Seoul, South Korea in 2007 to help open a new performing arts school, The Institute of Creative Arts (ICA). Now that Debra has laid roots in Holyoke, MA, she teaches weekly classes at the
Massachusetts Academy of Ballet (MAB), has worked several times as a guest artist at Williston Northampton School and began her wonderful experience in the dance department at Mount Holyoke College in the Spring of 2011.

Adding yoga to her list of passions as she was still working and living NY, Debra has practiced yoga for over 11 years now and has taught yoga since 2007. She and her husband opened Vega Yoga & Movement Arts www.vegayoga.com in April of 2008 at Open Square in Holyoke, and were named #1 Best Place for Yoga in the Valley Advocate Readers Poll in 2011. Her commitment to her community stays strong, not only through her yoga studio, but in her community involvement including her work as the Assistant to the Campaign to help renovate and expand the Holyoke Public Library, as a founding member of the grassroots organization C.R.U.S.H. (Citizens for the Revitalization and Urban Success of Holyoke) and as the wife of Holyoke City Councilor at Large, Aaron Vega. Debra hails originally from Indiana, where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in
Dance Performance, minor in Theatre from Ball State University.
