Scholarly Projects

The faculty in the International Relations Program often collaborate on scholarly projects. The Program provides an effective forum for such activities. There are currently two such projects.

American Hegemony is a project run by the Five College Professor of International Relations, Jon Western. The project is analyzing the changing roles and policies of the United States in a world in which the meanings of security are evolving in unanticipated directions.

Global Governance is a project jointly run by Michael Klare of Hampshire College and Vinnie Ferraro of Mount Holyoke College. The project is investigating the prospects for improving the effectiveness of the global institutions charged with addressing some of the most crucial problems facing the peoples of the world.
