Evaluations Amherst College Evaluations work through the department--different departments have different evaluation forms. Please consult the departmental coordinator about the procedure. Hampshire College Hampshire has recently switched to an online system. Carol Trosset in Institutional Research is in charge. The new system is as follows: Course evaluations are completed on line by Hampshire students, who will find them on the Hub when they log in to complete their self-evaluations. Instructors should go to TheHub under "Academic Records/Evaluations"/ "Instructor - Current Semester" / "Course Objectives Evaluation" to enter data showing the importance of various learning goals to their particular course. They will automatically be asked to fill this out before they can begin writing any evaluations of students. Results will be made available to instructors in two ways. Comments can be viewed on the Hub after all faculty have completed their evaluations of students. Reports summarizing the numeric responses will be sent to instructors (usually on paper sent to campus mailboxes, possibly as pdf files sent by email). If you have any questions, please contact Carol or the secretary of your school. Mount Holyoke College Evaluations are administered through the Dean of Faculty’s Office. You should hear from someone in the Dean’s Office before the end of the semester. Please contact Amy Berube if you have any questions. Smith College Smith uses computer evaluations, and the process is administered by the Dean of the College. For a 2 week period, students have access to the evaluation forms online. (They are reminded multiple times and fined if they don’t comply.) No evaluations are done for courses with fewer than 6 Smith students. If your course has fewer than 6 Smith students, you will need to make alternative arrangements in order to do written evaluations. You should be able to view the evaluations online after the 2 week evaluation period is over. University Evaluations work through the department and have a handwritten comments section as well as a bubble section. Please consult the departmental coordinator about the procedure.
