Five College Cataloging Advisory Committee

Purpose:
To monitor the III cataloging functions on an ongoing and system-wide basis; to consult with other Five College committees; and to act as an advisory committee to the Librarians Council.

Areas of responsibility:
1. Consider and recommend profile changes and III enhancements for the catalog system.
2. Work together to revise policies, procedures, and workflows.
3. Complete the problem-solving and cleanup jobs associated with the III installation
4. Be aware of changes in national standards and the implications of those changes on local cataloging policies and procedures.

Membership:
At least one, and no more than two, representatives from each institution appointed for a two-year term, with the possibility of reappointment, plus a member of the Librarians Council as an ex officio member. The committee will choose its chair who will be responsible for calling the meetings and reporting to the Librarians Council. Other library staff may be invited to attend meetings when special advice is needed.
