Meeting Notes

DEDCC meeting 01/13/06 meeting notes – Five Colleges plus phone call

Present: M. Billings, J. Ewing, S. Berger (phone), C. Loring (phone), L. Button (phone), J. Jourdain

The meeting was held via conference call. We reviewed the prior day’s GoogleScholar presentation, focusing on what we could do to improve any future similar functions we might sponsor. Things we might do differently:

Require RSVPs

Double-check that the FCLC is willing to sponsor as “community service”

We will consider whether we should draft a letter to GoogleScholar at our next meeting. While not exactly sure what the letter might say, it might be a statement that we appreciate their interest in libraries and hope that they keep partnering with libraries to improve their search services.
