04/17/02 11AM Meeting at Five Colleges
Present: S. Berger, J. Schafer, R. Fonfa, S. Brown, J. Jourdain
1. Reviewed/accept minutes of last meeting.
2. Revised future meeting schedule:
a. April 26 at MHC, 1:30-3:00 (change to 12noon-2PM is
pending)

c. May 20 at 5C, 1:30-3PM
d. June 12, 10:30-noon (via videoconferencing system?)
e. June 26 at 5C, 9-10:30
3. Began development of a statement of outcomes of our work over the
next few months; Stephanie will draft the statement for committee review.
Essential elements of the statement: We plan to implement an e-journal locator by the start of the Fall '02 semester to address user research needs. In order to accomplish this so quickly, we'll recommend a vendor solution.
4. Reviewed additional information on commercial options for providing
access to e-journal titles (esp. those from aggregators). SerialsSolutions and JournalWebCite are essentially identical in terms of pricing, services, titles, etc. In light of new information from Jay regarding TDNet pricing options and the fact that SerialsSolutions does not offer a consortial approach, we agreed to invite David Fritsch to give us an on-site demo of TDNet on April 26 at MHC. The chairs of RIO, Ser/Acq, and Cataloging will be invited to meet later that day with David and DEDCC to ask more specific questions about TDNet and its implementation.
