Meeting Notes

07/22/02 2PM meeting at Five Colleges
Present: S.W. Brown, C. Loring, M. Hanley, R. Fonfa, J. Schafer, S. Berger, J. Jourdain
1. We accepted the notes from the 7/22/02 meeting.
2. Jan and Stephanie updated the group on the progress of TDNet
implementation. Brian Noone of TDNet reviewed the demo site with the TDNet Task Force earlier in the day (7/22). Everyone in the Task Force is pleased with the progress to date and optimistic about further developments.
3. We spent most of the meeting discussing our ideas list and how to
proceed with it. We'll try to develop a solid working vocabulary about our ideas. Among the items we plan to educate ourselves about in the next few months are:

B. Raven will categorize the ideas list-done
C. Marilyn will distribute the FCL committee info to all of us-done
D. Stephanie will send out instructions on how to prioritize the ideas
list so we can vote on it-done
E. Everyone will inform their respective contacts that the idea of
further automating in-Valley document delivery is on indefinite hold, pending development of helpful technologies - done

F. Everyone should review the material at the URLs above so we can
discuss them in more depth at our next meeting
G. Raven will start developing working definitions for some of our
ideas

Next meeting: August 6, 2 PM @ Five Colleges -- tentative agenda: further
discussion ideas list (esp. in terms of how we communicate about them with other committees and librarians), TDNet update, scheduling Sept meeting(s) [be sure to bring your calendars]
