Meeting Notes

DEDCC 06/02/03 meeting at Amherst College — notes

Present: S. Berger, J. Boisselle, S. Willen Brown, C. Loring, M. Billings, J. Schafer, J. Jourdain

The Committee welcomed Julie Boisselle from MHC as its newest member.

The Committee scheduled its next several meetings, through early August.

We discussed issues that we want to be sure are included in the Ex Libris license negotiations. We are going to ask Ex Libris for as much documentation as possible as soon as possible so we can start the required planning and data preparation.

We discussed how best to promote SFX and MetaLib among our colleagues. We are considering having Jenny Walker from Ex Libris return for an additional MetaLib demonstration for more people early in the fall semester.

We discussed the possible composition of a Five College Ex Libris implementation team and decided it’s best composed of representatives from each of the five institutional implementation teams.

· Contact possible presenters for XML workshop – Stephanie
· Prepare draft letters to vendors on RFB -- Jan – done

· Learn composition of local Ex Libris implementation committees and report back to DEDCC with group leader names to form Five College implementation team – all
