Meeting Notes

DEDCC 09/12/03 meeting at Five Colleges — notes

Present: S. Berger, J. Boisselle, C. Loring, M. Billings, S. Willen Brown, J. Jourdain

1. We scheduled our meetings for the fall semester. (See below).

2. C. Loring reported that the FCLC accepted our annual report without revisions. He also reported that MetaLib implementation may occur in two waves, with the various libraries implementing it at varied times. Jay Schafer has been asked to investigate the cost of additional MetaLib training if the libraries don’t all choose to train and implement simultaneously.

3. We discussed the ongoing ILS selection process and drafted some comments on the draft RFB to forward to the ILS Selection Committee.

4. Planning continues for a mid-November workshop on XML for all Five College librarians. A subcommittee of DEDCC is working on the details and will provide more information as plans are finalized.

5. We briefly discussed the status of the SFX implementation. Progress seems to vary by institution. At least one of the libraries is planning to redesign the “xC Links” button locally.
