Meeting Notes

DEDCC 03/12/04 meeting at Five Colleges - notes

Present: S. Brown, J. Ewing, M. Billings, C. Loring, L. Button, J.
Jourdain

We welcomed our new members, Leslie Button (UM) and Janet Ewing (MHC), and reviewed our charge and ground rules. We also reviewed our accomplishments (TDNet and SFX) and our past two annual reports.

Because there isn't a good alternative at the moment, we agreed to recommend that TDNet be renewed for another year, unless another committee suggests otherwise. We tabled the TDNet MARC product to the next meeting.

We briefly reviewed the status of the ILS selection process. Consensus
is that things are progressing well.

We tentatively scheduled meetings for the remainder of the semester, all at Five Colleges:

April 2, 9AM
April 23, 9AM
May 17, 9AM

We made further plans regarding the MetaLib training April 13-15. It will be conducted in the Lane Room, Amherst College Library. Jan will check on using the Front Room (large meeting room used for the Endeavor demo in early Feb) for the opening, general session of the training.

The remainder of the meeting was spent discussing items on our "future/pending" list of topics for investigation. Pending approval of the FCLC we may start to sponsor a bi-monthly brown-bag session on topics of interest to all Five College library staff members. Marilyn will draft a proposal to FCLC about the sessions.
