Meeting Notes

DEDCC 04/02/04 meeting at Smith College - notes

Present: S. Brown, S. Berger, L. Button, J. Jourdain

1. We tentatively rescheduled our next meeting to be Friday, April 30, 9AM at Five Colleges.

2. We agreed to wait until a new ILS is implemented before making a recommendation on TDNet's, or any other, MARC serials product.

3. RIO, Circulation, and DEDCC all agree that it would be useful to put a cross-link to the other catalog from each catalog's "view your own record" page, as a reminder to patrons that they may have materials checked out of both systems. We hope this will be implemented quickly.

4. We talked about the streaming music SC is putting online in Blackboard in support of music courses. SC has decided to use the QuickTime streaming format for the audio files because the QT streaming server is free, while other streaming servers are quite expensive.

5. The affiliated imaging people in Five Colleges plan to meet at SC on April 16 for a demo of ArtStor and an update on the possibility of interfaces between MetaLib and Luna Insight.
