DEDCC 08/19/04 meeting at Smith College - notes
Present: J. Ewing, S. Brown, S. Berger, M. Billings, C. Loring, J. Jourdain
1. We made tentative plans for a possible brown bag session to be
held October 21, 12-2PM, at Smith. The topic of this possible gathering
is personalization vs. privacy. Providing FCLC approves the idea, Sika
will coordinate the event and she and Jan will arrange for speakers.
2. Pending FCLC's approval of additional brown bag sessions, we'll
make plans for gathering feedback from the other committees regarding
what topics they'd like covered in future brown bags.
3. Having reviewed our "ideas" list of library technology concepts
we plan to monitor in the future, we'll make plans for gathering feedback
from the other committees regarding technology issues that would be of
broad interest to the Five Colleges.
4. We reviewed the III Millennium Silver enhancements list Marilyn
distributed prior to the Aug 17 upgrade. Marilyn agreed to synthesize
the list further prior to our next meeting, grouping items that have
already taken effect, those that are easy to implement if the libraries
choose to, and those that really aren't relevant to our current
situation. Our hope is that a refined listing will facilitate
discussion of those features worth adopting, etc.
5. We set our meeting schedule for the fall '04 semester. All
meetings will be 9-10:30AM at Five Colleges. Dates are: Sept 10, Oct
1, Oct 22, Nov 12, Dec 3.
