DEDCC 06/17/05 meeting at Five Colleges, Inc. – notes
Present: C. Loring, S. Berger, M. Billings, S. Brown, L. Button, J. Ewing
1. We reviewed activities of the past year for inclusion in our annual report. S. Brown will distribute a draft report by email for comment.
2. We set the following dates for upcoming meetings: Friday, July 8 and Friday, August 19 (tentative), both at 9 a.m. at Five Colleges.
3. There is no update on wireless/database access in Five College Libraries. We discussed the Five Colleges library guide, which is now online. We agreed this should be updated regularly but are not certain who is responsible for so doing. C. Loring will check on this.
4. S. Brown sent an inaugural message to the Five College Libraries listserv earlier this week. We agreed we should change the set-up so the sender receives a copy of the email so that person knows the message was distributed. We discussed whether this listserv supersedes the FC III net listserv and agreed it does. M. Billings will notify FC III net listserv members that it will be disbanded since ILS information will be disseminated through the Five Colleges Libraries listserv.
5. S. Berger and S. Brown distributed an outline developed by the DOM Workshop Planning Group. We reviewed the proposal and had some suggestions. These included developing some questions for participants to discuss at small breakout sessions and gathering feedback from participants so Five Colleges will know whether there sufficient interest for future collaboration. We thought Lorna Peterson or Donna Baron should make closing remarks.
6. J. Jourdain has found a way to secure minutes in the “news” section of the Five Colleges Web site.
7. We discussed the future of brown bag lunches and agreed we should continue these. Future topics for these information sharing sessions include NAAUG/SMG update, XML, and Google Scholar.
8. We thanked S. Brown for her service as chair for the past three years.
Next meeting: Friday, July 8, 9:00 a.m. at Five Colleges
