Five College Libraries
Research, Information and Outreach Committee (RIO)
Present: Bonnie Vigeland (chair), Bryan Goodwin (recorder), Margaret Groesbeck, Beth Lang, Barbara Polowy
Absent: Sherre Harrington
Completion of ALEPH Function Testing
Committee members will finish reports on their testing of ALEPH functions and send reports to Bonnie who will collate them prior to sending them out to Jan and Chris.
Clarification of RIO’s Role in Ongoing Problem Management with ALEPH
RIO discussed the October 19 minutes from the AIC on handling problems with ALEPH. It was decided that more clarification was needed on how these problems will be handled and, in particular, who will resolve them and what RIO’s role and authority will be under the proposal outlined by the AIC. Bonnie will ask Sherre Harrington for guidance from the Five College library directors.
Clarification of who will work on revising “My Account” on ALEPH
There appears to be some confusion as to which committee (Five College Circulation or RIO) should assume responsibility for improving the look and feel of the “My Account” feature on ALEPH. Bonnie will speak to the Five College Circ Committee for clarification.
Next Meeting
The next meeting will be held on November 13 at 9am at Hampshire College.
