RIO COMMITTEE MEETING 8/2/07 at HAMPSHIRE COLLEGE
Attending the meeting: Bryan Goodwin, chair, Beth Lang, Barbara Polowy, Margaret Groesbeck and Bonnie Vigeland
OLD BUSINESS:
The Five College Reference Librarians meeting will be held at the Amherst College Alumni House on Sept. 24th at 2:30pm. RIO committee members need to send numbers of people planning to attend to Margaret Groesbeck by Sept 14th.
Work on the Aleph OPAC continues this summer. Barbara and Beth reported on, and demonstrated, some of the improvements that have been made, some that are still being worked on, and some that are still to come. Call number display of joint holdings is still being worked on; relevancy ranking and reconfiguration of the language limits are done in test. The banners are almost ready to be tested. RIO members can test relevancy ranking and language limits now (in test) and send the results to Chris Hannon, including screen shots to demonstrate any problems. The Aleph committee will let RIO know when further testing of functionality is to be done, and, when we hear, it will be a priority for RIO committee members to do that testing.
RIO will work on modifying the HELP screens when changes to the OPAC are finalized.
The next RIO meeting will be held at 10 am on Sept. 10th at Hampshire College.
Bonnie Vigeland,
recorder for the meeting
