Announcements
Stephanie Schmitt, the new Aleph Manager, is here and beginning her orientation to the five colleges. She will be stationed at UMass, but will have regularly scheduled visits to each 5-college library. Beth will invite her to attend a RIO meeting at her earliest convenience.
WorldCat Local project at AC and UM continues to move ahead on schedule. It is expected to be ready for public use by the start of fall semester, 2009.
FCLC is examining ways that our libraries can become even more cooperative than we already are. RIO members should consider if there are any 5-college cooperative ideas for reference & instruction activities.

Feedback from last Friday’s conference:
Members received positive feedback from attendees about the five-minute “lightening talk” format, and we hope to do this again next January. We may cut down on the number of presentations (perhaps instead of 10, limit it to 6), plus change the way the Q&A period was presented – suggestion was made to replace it with a poster session. In an initial discussion our fall reception format, all agree that it should be less formal.
