Coursework The Five College Coastal and Marine Sciences Program offers students enrolled in the five colleges an interdisciplinary curriculum including coastal and marine ecology/geology, resource management and public policy, oceanography, and coastal engineering. Faculty from both natural and social sciences teach courses in the program. The disciplines represented include biology, botany, chemistry, ecology, food science, forestry and wildlife management, geography, geology, physics, and zoology in the natural sciences, and government, public policy, and economics in the social sciences. This master list may include some courses that are not currently offered- be sure to check the Five College Catalog for course availability. None of the colleges offers a major in Marine Science, but Smith College does offer a minor. Please see the LIST OF CLASSES FOR SPRING 2010 for courses that count toward the FCC&MS Certificate.
