Educators for Social Responsibility (ESR)
ESR is a non-profit organization that helps educators create safe, caring, respectful, and productive learning environments. Services include programs for effective classroom management and designing and implementing advisory and peer mentoring programs. ESR also help educators work with young people to develop the social skills, emotional competencies, and qualities of character they need to succeed in school and become contributing members of their communities. Charles “Chip” Kaufman is a consultant for Educators for Social Responsibility located in western Massachusetts. He was the assistant principal and principal of Easthampton for seven years. He has also worked as a teacher of mathematics and special education and as an athletic director in both private and public schools. He works with public and private middle and high schools in all settings and is currently working with schools in Springfield, Lawrence and Northampton, Massachusetts, New York City, and Westchester, NY and Connecticut. Guided Tours of Garden for School Groups
The Botanic Gardens at Smith College offers guided tours of the Lyman Conservatory and its outdoor gardens. The tours are led by trained volunteers.
