Waivers If you are unsure what forms you need for your trip, please review College policy on Mandatory Field Trips and Voluntary Field Trips. It is strongly recommended that waivers be used for all voluntary trips. Waivers are required for all international trips, which may include study abroad, internships or field trips. Waivers are different from Informed Consent Forms; in addition to the assumption of risk and informed consent agreement, the student waives their right to recover from the College even if the College is negligent; they waive their right to sue the College; and they agree to indemnify the College if they cause harm. This form is also designed to give the student basic information about the trip, and to warn the student of the hazards involved. It also sets a standard for behavior, letting the student know that s/he is responsible for her/him self and that failure to follow guidelines may result in dismissal from the trip. Domestic Waiver Forms: (Trips in the US) International Waiver Forms: (Trips outside the US) Students under the age of 18 are not legally competent to sign a waiver and MUST have parental signature on their waiver forms. Contact the Risk Manager if you have students under the age of 18 going on your trip. | ||
