Several projects have been developed jointly to support the goal of enhancing teaching and research through technology. The largest of these is a fiber optic network linking the campuses. A Five College Information Technology Governing Board appointed by the board of directors oversees the Dark Fiber Project. A number of other projects that promote the use of interactive video classrooms and events such as the Five College Multimedia Fair are overseen by separate committees convened by the Five College Director of Information Technology.
