You are cordially invited to attend a . . .Five College Workshops:
Introduction to Interactive Video Classrooms
June 11th and July 30th, 2002
Introduce your students to the author of a book they just read, a foreign diplomat, or an expert in your field.
Connect your class with students from around the world. Team-teach a course with a colleague from another campus without having to leave your own campus. Prepare your students for a semester abroad and keep in touch with them once they are away. Manage collaborative research projects easily, even when your colleagues are far away.
Each campus has an interactive video classroom with the capability to connect with one or more of the other four interactively over the Five College network. Each also has the capability to connect to similar facilities around the world using telephone lines.
Videoconferencing allows you to:
Meet people in remote places face to face and voice to voice;
Easily share computer applications, videos, DVD's, CD's, document cameras and the whiteboard between remote locations.Find out how at a one day workshop!
Each workshop features in-depth discussions about technology and pedagogy led by faculty experienced in teaching with interactive video. Meet and talk with others interested in utilizing interactive video in their teaching. Pairs or teams of faculty interested in developing a joint pilot project are welcome. A modest stipend is available for faculty attending the workshop and developing a pilot project for using the classroom.
