America Reads Overview Training Summary

Overview Trainings (OT) are one of the two trainings that students are required to attend before eligable to tutor.  This brief training will introduce topics such as:

  • Classroom etiquette
  • Responsibilities as an America Reads/America Counts Tutor
  • Introduction to basic tutoring strategies

It is highly encouraged whether you have secured a placement as a tutor or not.  Please bring any questions you may have on getting started with you to the OT.  

As a work-study student, you will be paid for your time. Please arrive on time and stay through the entire session in order to be paid for your training. 


If you are unable attend the OT at your college campus, you may register and attened a training at one of the other five colleges.
