Gaming Representation: A Symposium on Video Games and Identity
This one-day symposium features scholarship on video games and identity—an urgent topic in the gaming industry and culture—from five contributors to the new book Gaming Representation: Race, Gender, and Sexuality in Video Games. Join us on Friday, October 27th in Smith College’s Weinstein Auditorium (Wright Hall) at 1:00 for a panel of presentations, at 3:15 for a moderated conversation among panelists about the state of identity and games today, and at 4:30 for a keynote lecture from Lisa Nakamura, one of the foremost scholars researching on race and digital media. Free, open to the public, and wheelchair accessible.
