Directed by Marcello Mazzetti and Livia Ticli
The Palma Choralis Early Music Workshop will consider several aspects of improvisation and ornamentation in order to understand why they are so essential to Renaissance-Baroque repertoire, and to get a sense of performance practice and processes typical of unwritten traditions.
We will have a great time singing/playing from choir-books, original prints and manuscripts. Join us and experience firsthand what may seem like complex issues in a very simple and fun way! Open to all voice ranges and modern or historical instruments, and all levels are welcome. We will work at A=440.
Admission to the workshop is free and open to students, faculty and staff and community members Please register by February 28th by visiting this site and clicking on ‘register’: https://www.mtholyoke.edu/events/69117/explore-renaissance-performance-stylistic-experts-italianensemble-palma-choralis-free
