Haeden Stewart is expected to receive his PhD from U of Chicago in June 2019. His work focuses on archaeology of contemporary social crises and environmental degradation as well as undocumented migration with the important and influential Undocumented Migrant Project. His field work examines the archaeology of toxicity, focused on relationships of industrialization (coal mining and meat packing industries), including the long-term effects into the present, making connections with political ecology and environmental justice.
