Dr. Rizvi received her PhD from UPenn in 2007 and is currently an Associate Professor at Pratt Institute. She has fieldwork sites in Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), with interest in archaeology of South Asia and the global south. She is recognized nationally and internationally for her work in postcoloniality and archaeology, with particular focus on participatory field research in the Middle East, where such work poses complex challenges. Dr. Rizvi has also published and teaches on embodied research practices and feminist approaches to archaeology in the UAE and India.
