Five College Jazz Festival to celebrate the jazz continuum

Saturday March 7, 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Hampshire College Music and Dance Building Recital Hall; free admission

With a selection of student ensembles as varied as the campuses they represent, the 2015 Five College Jazz Festival will have something for all jazz fans. From big bands to small combos, vocal ensembles to improvising orchestras, these groups will feature the interpretive and improvisational skills of our students, under the dynamic direction of the Five College Jazz faculty.

“The festival is a celebration of the creative ways we approach the jazz continuum at the five campuses,” says Marty Ehrlich, associate professor of jazz and contemporary music at Hampshire College and director of this year’s festival. “This is a great opportunity for current students and other young people in the area to hear what’s going on at our campuses.”

The festival is free and open to the public, running from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on March 7 at Hampshire College’s Music and Dance Building Recital Hall.
