Five College Early Music Program to hold auditions in September

Auditions on all five campuses, September 8–11, 2015, open to the public

The Five College Early Music Program welcomes students, faculty, and community members interested in auditioning to sing or play in one or more ensembles, including the Collegium Choir, Baroque Orchestra and Voces Feminae as well as chamber music, medieval and Renaissance ensembles.

The auditions are intended to be painless experiences, held at all the campuses. Modern string players and adventurous pianists are encouraged to audition. Performances sponsored by the program feature baroque and Renaissance music played on modern and period instruments and sung in historically informed style. Instruction is offered on period instruments such as recorders, sackbut, viol and lute for modern players. Credit is available for ensembles and lessons to students enrolled at Mount Holyoke College, University of Massachusetts Amherst or Hampshire College.
