Ruth Rauluk, formerly the associate vice president of risk management at Point Park University in Pittsburgh, is the new director of risk management for the Five College Consortium. Rauluk will manage the insurance and risk management programs of Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke, and Smith Colleges, as well as for Five Colleges, Incorporated. She will also manage the captive insurance program that the four campuses and consortium own, and develop and implement Enterprise Risk Management programs for each institution.
By pooling their resources in a single risk management office and captive insurance program, the college campuses of the Five College Consortium have saved millions of dollars over the past 20 years. The fifth campus of the consortium, the University of Massachusetts Amherst, maintains its own risk management and captive insurance programs.
Rauluk earned her MBA from Point Park University and holds a number of professional certifications, and is active in the University Risk Management and Insurance Association. While at Point Park University, she was the driving force behind establishing the university’s risk management program.
“Ruth will bring strong experience in the three core areas of the position -- insurance, risk management, and enterprise risk management,” said Five Colleges Executive Director Sarah Pfatteicher. “I’m looking forward to her valuable contributions as a member of our team.”
Rauluk, who began work at Five Colleges on December 1, replaces Stacie Kroll, who served in the position since 2016.
