The Five Colleges consortium and HitPoint Studios, an Amherst-based independent game company that counts Disney, 20th Century Fox, Sony and Hasbro among its clients, are collaborating in sponsoring a 24-hour game-creation workshop at Hampshire College’s Adele Simmons Hall beginning Friday, September 27 at 6pm.
The free workshop is open to the public, with a mix of college students, kids and adults expected to take part in building both board games and computer games. HitPoint will feature a selection of the games created at its open house on October 10. Food and beverages will be free and plentiful and there will be an emphasis on creativity and collaboration, with participants being assigned to teams and given themes to work with.
Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
