Topics course: A Calderwood Seminar in Public Writing. What do artists have to say to activists and scientists? What makes activist and art effective, or even activist science? Focusing on case studies drawn from the 1960s-present from Latin America and Latinx geographies, this seminar explores - and challenges- these questions and the disciplinary boundaries they presume. Our work centers upon writing for readers outside academia (its own kind of activism), and the intersections-both successful and failed-of art, ecology, and activism. Open to juniors and seniors of any major who wish to write about issues with expansive ethical implication for a wide public. Permission of instructor required.
Instructor Permission. Not open to first-years, sophomores
Permission is required for interchange registration during all registration periods.
