Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company's Story/Time
The Five College Dance Department was proud to have as its 2016-2017 repertory project Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company's Story/Time. The original work was choreographed by Bill T. Jones with Janet Wong. An excerpt was staged on our dancers by Jennifer Nugent and Shayla-Vie Jenkins. The concerts featured Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company's Story/Time (excerpt), an intricate collage of dance, live music and personal narratives orchestrated in new configurations for each performance by chance procedures. Similar to a busy streetscape or a crowded room, the experience challenges audience members to find meaning and connection in the sweep of randomized, disparate elements. The excerpt was performed at the Mount Holyoke College Fall Faculty Dance Concert, Smith College Fall Faculty Dance Concert, and the FCDD Faculty Dance Concert. The dance was double cast and featured a total of 20 FCDD performers across all five campuses.
