Meet the leadership team for the Five College Women's Studies Research Center
Li Cornfeld, Director
Li Cornfeld (she/they) is a feminist media scholar who researches the intersections of technology, performance, and public culture. She took up the directorship of the FCWSRC in July 2024, and divides her time between the Center's location at Hampshire College and the Department of Film Media Theater at Mount Holyoke College, where she serves as a visiting lecturer. Previously, she developed programming at major university research centers, including the Digital Studies Institute at the University of Michigan, the Institute for Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies at McGill University, and, closer to home, the Center for Humanisitic Inquiry at Amherst College, where she held a postdoctoral fellowship from 2017-2019. Her scholarship on feminism and technology under industrial capitalism appears in Feminist Media Studies, Feminist Media Histories, Communication +1, Women & Performance, and elsewhere. Her research has been supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities and the American Association of University Women.

Lily Sendroff, Program Coordinator
Lily Sendroff (she/her) joined the FCWSRC as Program Coordinator in January, 2023. She holds a BA in Government and the Study of Women and Gender from Smith College, and her primary areas of academic research and writing center on contemporary social and political theory, critical theory, and Marxist feminist political economy. Reflected in her work at the Center, Lily views community as a main pillar of feminist praxis. Before joining the Center, her recent projects include “Democratic Precarity from Below: Exclusion, Resistance, and the Gendered and Racialized Division of Labor” and contributions to “Anti-Imperialism and the United Nations: Mapping the Afro-Asian Peoples’ Solidarity Organization during the U.N. Decade for Women.” Her writing has appeared publicly in the second edition of Women Worldwide: Transnational Feminist Perspectives as well as online in Ms. Magazine.
