K-12 teachers, start off your professional development year right by joining us at the Peabody Essex Museum, Salem, MA, on Saturday, Sept. 29, from 10am-3pm to view the Empresses of China's Forbidden City exhibition. Lunch will be provided, and participants will receive a small stipend to cover the cost of parking and transportation. New England teachers receive free admission with your school I.D. FCCEAS will cover the cost of admission for teachers from outside New England. Limited to 20 participants.
“This exhibition is the first to explore the role of empresses in shaping China’s last dynasty – the Qing dynasty – from 1644 to 1912. Nearly 200 spectacular objects from the Palace Museum tell the little-known stories of how imperial women influenced court politics, art and religion.” https://www.pem.org/
