Directions to the FCWSRC/Parking Advice
The FCWSRC is located at 79 and 83 College Street (Route 116) on the southern end of the Mount Holyoke College campus. Public events are held in our building at 83 College Street.
Because visitor parking near our buildings is limited, we strongly recommend that visitors come early to find parking and make their way to our buildings. We suggest car-pooling, or taking the Five College bus as good alternate options.
Reaching us via Five College bus:
The closest bus stop to the FCWSRC is located at Mary Woolley Hall on the MHC campus. Once off the bus, walk down Chapin Road to the intersection with Route 116. Cross 116 at the nearby crosswalk, and then turn to the left (south) down Route 116. After you cross Faculty Road, 83 College Street will be three buildings down on the right.
For information about the Five College bus, call UMass Transit at 413-545-0056 or see www.umass.edu/bus
Please note again that there is limited visitor parking (four spaces, in the nearby Dickinson lot; see below) near the Center. We strongly recommend arriving early for our events in case these spaces are taken. In that event, you may park in other visitor spaces on the main campus but expect to have to walk to the Center. From 5pm-7am on weekdays and all day on weekends, visitors may park in any Faculty/Staff space on campus. A campus map which identifies visitor parking is available at http://www.mtholyoke.edu/cic/map/ The FCWSRC is located in section H7 of the map.
Alternate nearby options for visitor parking include several spaces in the lot on Jewett Lane and in the lot across from the college gates. Both of these lots are located north on Route 116 from 79/83 College Street.
Any cars parked along South Hadley streets may be subject to ticketing by campus police.
Two handicapped parking spaces are available between our buildings. Access is from a driveway off Rte.116. Turn into the driveway between 79 and 83 College Street to reach these spaces.
From Interstate 91, take Route 202 North (Exit 16, Holyoke/South Hadley). Head north on Route 202 through Holyoke, across the Connecticut River, and around the rotary to the exit marked South Hadley Center/Amherst, Route 116 North. Mount Holyoke College is approximately 2.5 miles from the exit.
Follow Route 116 through South Hadley until you come to the college. Just past the intersection of Route 116 and Morgan Street at the southern end of the campus, take a left onto Faculty Road. See information about the Dickinson parking lot below.
From the North, take Rte 116 South to South Hadley. You will see the Village Commons on your right. Approximately half a mile south of the Village Commons, take a right onto Faculty Road. See information about the Dickinson parking lot below.
The Dickinson lot, for parking nearest the FCWSRC, is just ahead on the left. Four visitor parking spaces are available in the lot at the top right hand side. Once out of the car, a sign directing you to the Research Center will lead up the path to the right. You’ll end up between our two buildings. 83 College Street, where events are held, will be on your right. Enter by the side door.
If the Dickinson spaces are full, please find alternate parking in other visitor spaces on campus.
