Employment Categories

            There are four (4) categories of employment at Five Colleges, Incorporated, and these categories determine which benefits are available to the employee. The categories are:

 

A. Regular Full-time:

Those working a regularly scheduled workweek of 35 hours throughout the year.

 

B. Regular Part-time:

Those working a regularly scheduled workweek of 20 or more hours for at least 10 months of the year.

 

C. Part-time

Those working fewer than 20 hours a week.

 

D. Temporary:

Personnel hired for a limited time for a specific task who work a regularly scheduled workweek of hours per week, but only for a limited duration.  This category may include grant-funded positions.

 

E. Student Employment:

Student status applies to persons currently enrolled for credit at a member institution of the consortium. Students are considered temporary and are not eligible for benefits.
