Problems editing the Five College site

When I access my site, I can't see anything that is usually labeled "(hidden)."

  • This is an indication that you are not logged into the Five College website.
You must be logged in to edit any pages and/or content on the site. You can tell whether or not you are logged in by looking at the top right side of your screen. "Hello [your username]" appears and the words "Log in" have changed to "Log out" if you are logged in. Review instructions on how to log into the website.

When I go to a page or site I want to edit, I get a message that says, "Password required."

The message above is an indication that the area of the Five College site that you'd like to edit is not visible to the general public and has restricted permissions.

Review the bulleted items below to troubleshoot what could be causing your problem:

  • You are not logged in.
You must be logged in to edit any pages and/or content on the site. You can tell whether or not you are logged in by looking at the top right side of your screen. "Hello [your username]" appears and the words "Log in" have changed to "Log out" if you are logged in (see example, above).

  • You are logged in, but you haven't spoken with anyone at Five Colleges about viewing or editing the area.
It isn't possible to edit any areas of the site or to view restricted areas without having your account associated with those areas, first.

  • You are logged in and you have permission from Five Colleges to view or edit the area.
    This is an indication either:
    1. that your account has not yet been established on the website by Five Colleges; or
    2. that the permissions on the area you'd like to edit are have not yet been established.
