NEA Fine Arts Grants
On behalf of the National Education Association (NEA), the NEA Foundation offers NEA Fine Arts grants to NEA members. Available to elementary (grades K-6) school art specialists through local NEA affiliates, the grants allow fine arts educators to create and implement programs that promote learning among students at risk of school failure. Deadline: February 1, June 1, and October 15.
Sea World/Busch Gardens/Fujifilm Environmental Excellence Awards
These awards recognize the outstanding efforts of students and teachers across the country who are working at the grassroots level to protect and preserve the environment. Maximum award of $10,000. All schools grades K-12 eligible. Nominations for the 2014 Environmental Educator of the Year are due by November 1, 2013.
Outdoor Classroom Grant Program
Lowe's Charitable and Educational Foundation, International Paper and National Geographic Explorer! classroom magazine have partnered to create an outdoor classroom grant program to provide schools with additional resources to improve their science curriculum by engaging students in hands-on experiences outside the traditional classroom. Maximum award of $20,000 (to districts or schools with major outdoor classroom projects), $2000 to individual schools. All public schools grades K-12 in the United States are eligible. The fall cycle is open Aug. 1 until Oct. 15, 2013.
