CBO Tour 2024

Come Visit: Attend the Five College CBO Tour on May 5, 6, and 7. Local travel, lodging, and meals will be provided; travel reimbursements are available.

The Five College Consortium in western Massachusetts makes available for all students many of the opportunities that our campuses offer their own students. They may take courses at any of our campuses at no additional charge–that’s about 7,000 courses each year. In addition, students can access libraries, labs, and social events on any of our campuses, linked by a free bus service.

CBO Tour of the Five College Consortium

From May 5 to 7, 2024, the Five College Consortium will host 25 community-based organization counselors from around the country to tour our campuses. With student-led tours, faculty panel discussions, and presentations from admissions directors, attendees will learn how, by enrolling in one campus, their students can experience the benefits of all five.

Counselors will learn how our students choose from thousands of courses at five of the most rigorous and innovative campuses in the country, access 10 million library volumes through our Joint Online Catalog and participate in Five College academic programs that pool the strengths of each institution.

The CBO Tour 2024 is now full!

The tour will begin with an early evening reception and dinner on Sunday. On Monday, counselors will tour three campuses and will end the day with a late afternoon reception at one of our campuses. The tour will end around 3pm on Tuesday, after visiting the remaining two campuses.

Lodging and Meals

Your lodging will be on us at the historic Hotel Northampton, here in beautiful western Massachusetts. Each counselor will have their own room.

Meals will be provided by campus dining services, with free lodging at the historic Hotel Northampton. If you are traveling by mass transit, we will pick you up at the airport, train or bus station and return you there after the tour at no charge.

Five Colleges will, at no charge, arrange to have you picked up at an area train or bus station, or at Bradley International Airport (BDL) in Hartford, CT. We will also return you on Tuesday afternoon. Counselors will make their own flight arrangements.

Travel Reimbursement

Travel reimbursement (airfare, train/bus tickets or mileage) of up to $400 may be available upon request. Counselors will need to buy their own flight or train ticket and be reimbursed after the tour. Please do not make any travel arrangements prior to receiving a confirmation of attendance.

Reimbursement Process: Counselors will need to fill out a W-9 form and submit their receipts. Reimbursements will be processed after the conclusion of the program.
