Course cross-registration steps

Steps for cross-registering for a course on another campus, with a link to the Five College accessibility form that all students who are requesting accommodations must submit.

Pre-registering for a course

If you sign up for a class during the pre-registration period, the semester before the class meets:

  • Follow your home campus steps for registering for a course on another campus.
  • Your home campus registrar will verify that you are qualified to apply for the course (you have appropriate pre-requisites, etc)
  • Your registrar will send it to the campus where the course will be taught. If there is space in the course, you will be registered for the course.
  • In most cases, you will not need prior approval from the course instructor.
  • Contact your home campus registrar’s office with questions.

Registering for a course during Add/Drop

To register for a course during the add-drop period in the semester the course is offered:

  • Follow your home campus steps for registering for a course on another campus.
  • Your home campus registrar will verify that you are qualified to apply for the course (have appropriate pre-requisites, etc)
  • Your registrar will send it to the campus where the course will be taught.
  • You will also need approval from the course instructor. This can be given via email, but many instructors prefer to see students in person as an acknowledgement of their interest in the class. This can be done at or before the first class.
  • Contact your home campus registrar’s office with questions.

Visit our cross-registration page for details.

Once you have been admitted to a course, you may submit an accommodation form. Additional information can be found on our accessibility page
