Theater and Dance 240 - Ensemble Theatre Making

Calling all writers, singers, dancers, actors, and musicians! Let’s create a show together. This course is a practical, on-your-feet introduction to collaborative and devised theatre-making as an ensemble of artists. Students will be introduced to different processes of ensemble theatre-making through critical texts and classroom practice. Students will be expected to work with various approaches, as performers and creators, through small-scale, class-based performance projects in parallel to a large ensemble project. Limited to 22 students. Fall 2026. Professor SEVAN.
How to handle overenrollment: THDA majors given priority.
Students who enroll in this course will likely encounter and be expected to engage in the following intellectual skills, modes of learning, and assessment: Regular attendance and class participation, class discussion, reading, and self-reflection/project-response writing assignments.
