Arts education is a common experience in childhood and adolescence. This course presents an overview of developmental psychology research methods and research in psychology of the arts. Students will work in teams to analyze multi method longitudinal data on children's K-12 participation in theatre and their development of psychosocial skills. The course will involve methodological considerations including open science practices, data cleaning and management, coding bias, construct validity, reliability, and individual differences, as well as issues surrounding longitudinal studies. Students will design and complete a research project on qualitative and/or quantitative data and analyses.

Prereq: PSYCH-204.
